In the Forum: Can Exercise Make You Gain Weight?

Something must be in the air because I've been getting this question quite a bit lately: "I do a combo of strength training using machines/ free weights along with 30+ minutes of cardio consisting of either jogging or an eliptical machine (moderate) 4 days/week...In the past week I have noticed my clothes being noticably more snug...Is there something I am doing wrong that is making me fatten up like this?"
Believe it or not, this is something many people experience when they start exercising and there can be any number of reasons this can happen. One is that you may be building muscle faster than you're losing fat. If that's the case, you can either adjust your cardio or wait for your body to correct itself over time.
